From the archives:
"We had a pretty good time. I kept the speed to something less than supersonic and
Misty kept her
left index finger out of my ribcage for most of the trip. Glad I had good pads on the brakes as that
downhill bit was pretty steep in spots. My ribs suffered a few "nervous sticks" from the passenger
seat on two of those hairpins. Took the back-way home through the "country" while paralleling 101
along McKean Rd. Made for nice scenery (2 reservoirs, a sheep ranch, lots of horse stables and
rolling green hills.) all the way to south San Jose and kept the Gilroy Outlets out of my wife's
crosshairs. Will have to better plan our lunch next time as cold sandwiches and caned soda looked
pretty meager compared to some of the stuff I saw on that picnic table."
